| Mental and Emotional Health . . . Wellness
Sometimes we think we are doing all right and suddenly realize we “aren’t ourselves” or are “going around in circles” replaying problems or issues, old or new. Today’s pace and numbers of choices are both wonderful and stressful. It is easy to feel overwhelmed, anxious and/or depressed, or to be unable to make decisions/choices. Learning to reframe thoughts and manage stress aid in coping with our life's problems and gaining both insight and perspective. These are basic in attaining and furthering our mental and emotional health and joy of living.
While it is easier to maintain balance and wellness than to recover it, neither is at all impossible. Often people are not aware that they would do much better and improve much faster with counseling (therapy) or, sometimes, life coaching. This is true even if a person is on medication. Insights and awareness gained in psychotherapy prove helpful in all situations.
I will work with you to:
- reduce stress; overcome anxiety
- abate depression
- overcome blocks and obstacles
- understand self, others, issues
- refer you to other specialists when appropriate
- gain insights and free choices
- suggest “homework” to speed the therapeutic process
- encourage you to follow through in making changes of choice
"I can't believe how much I've learned! I didn't think there was anything wrong - but I feel so much better about myself now. I am the same person, but I'm different. I'm so much more relaxed about life - and I feel so good!" -client comment
If you wish, go to Interactive Healing to learn more about some of the ways I work and/or to Counseling/Coaching for an overview of psychotherapy goals and outcomes.
Transitions and Life Circumstances highlight many times for which choosing to get counseling is helpful. Obviously these do not include all such times.
