A Holistic Approach To Health and Wellness
The holistic approach underlying the work I do recognizes that mind, body and spirit are intertwined and that each affects the other. The more any one of them is helped, the greater the health of all.
You can be sure that each of us needs both exercise and calm times. Most need considerably more sleep than they get. One needs work, play/recreation, a social network, a time for getting in touch with the Higher Self, and healthy nutrition. All of these are essential to good mental as well as physical health. Most anything can be overdone (or underdone) in our lives. Usually good health measures are not extreme; balance in life is a most useful guide
Few get close to following the “Food Pyramid” widely communicated in the US by health and governmental agencies. The four most consumed vegetables and fruits in the US are (in this order): French fries, tomato sauce, catsup, and iceburg lettuce. Fewer than 17% of the population eats three to five fruits daily as recommended.
